Policy Status : Suggested
That the Govt Legislate that Couples getting married or going into a de facto relationship, must complete a Pre-Nuptial

Couples getting married, must complete a Pre-Nuptial prior to getting married which outlines their assets, sets out the pattern of each other’s’ wages for the prior three years (where applicable), outlines any tertiary education they may have had, and the costs of those. For both parties, so a clear starting point is established in the partnership.

Why: If partnerships are so difficult to resolve when they are ending, they should be for good forms’ sake, a rather equal set of accounting done at the beginning so that how the partnership was formed, financially, and in terms of non-financial assets such as tertiary education, so that the big picture is clear

Where: The Registrar for the Births Deaths and Marriage would control/issue/keep safe with other relevant marriage documents so it is always available in the future.

When: This should be a document issued at the same time as the Application to get married is issued, and it may be a compulsory for to complete. This is yet to be decided.
